Amara Group and Koelnmesse GmbH Announce the Strategic Integration of Indonesia’s Leading Furniture Trade Fairs into a Unified Upstream-to-Downstream Industry Platform

Jakarta, 19 January 2026 – Starting in 2026, four of Indonesia’s most influential and established trade fairs for the materials, manufacturing, furniture, and interior sectors will unite under one strategic platform to represent the entire furniture industry value chain. Taking place between 23 to 27 September 2026, the co located events will form a one-stop destination for Indonesia’s furniture industries, covering the full spectrum from upstream materials and production technologies to downstream design and market-ready solutions.

Held across two venues in Jakarta – the newly opened Nusantara International  Convention Exhibition (NICE), and JIExpo Kemayoran, the combined events will  together create a comprehensive business and knowledge platform for industry  professionals.

As part of the alignment, Amara Group and Koelnmesse GmbH will jointly take over the management of IFFINA+, the annual flagship furniture event of the Indonesian Furniture Industry and Handicraft Association (ASMINDO), under the new name IFFINA+ powered by imm cologne. Furthermore, they will also join the organising team of Indonesia’s leading woodworking machinery event IFMAC WOODMAC. Both events will co-locate with interzum jakarta and the International Hardware Fair Indonesia to form a strong portfolio of internationally recognised trade fair brands, underscoring Indonesia’s growing role as regional manufacturing, sourcing, and design hub for the global furniture and interior markets.

At the downstream, market-facing end, IFFINA+ joins the portfolio as a key platform for finished furniture, design, and lifestyle products. interzum jakarta represents the upstream segment, focusing on materials, components, surfaces, fittings, and interior production solutions. The midstream manufacturing segment is covered by IFMAC WOODMAC, showcasing machinery, manufacturing systems, and technologies that enable furniture production at scale.

Initiated by Amara Group and Koelnmesse GmbH, this collaborative initiative brings together established and well-positioned trade fair platforms within a coordinated ecosystem framework that mirrors how the furniture industry operates across its entire value chain. The strategic alignment preserves the distinct market positioning and core strengths of each exhibition while fostering deeper industry connectivity, cross-sector collaboration, and a more seamless visitor experience.

Collectively, this unified ecosystem is presented as Indonesia Materials, Manufacturing & Furniture Connect – an integrated platform linking upstream materials and production with downstream furniture, design, and market-ready solutions within one coordinated industry week.

“This alignment brings together key industry platforms in a way that reflects how the furniture industry operates today,” said Dedy Rochimat, Chairman of ASMINDO. “It supports business development and international market access through a coordinated, end-to-end industry platform.”

“This co-location and alignment represent a significant milestone in how industry platforms are developed in Indonesia and the wider Asia-Pacific region,” said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and Regional President Asia Pacific, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd. “With strong support from ASMINDO, this initiative strengthens Indonesia’s position as an increasingly important manufacturing and sourcing hub, while providing international and regional players with a highly relevant platform for business development, knowledge exchange, and long-term collaboration.”

From the perspective of the design community, the ecosystem format also supports closer collaboration between creative and industrial disciplines. “By connecting design, materials, and production within one coordinated industry week, this platform encourages more effective collaboration across the value chain,” said Adi Surya Triwibowo, S.Sn., M.Ars., Chairman of the Indonesian Society of Interior Designers (HDII) 2024-2027.

Beyond the exhibition floors, the aligned events will be complemented by curated programmes including industry forums, expert-led discussions, sustainability focused sessions, and cross-sector knowledge exchange. As Indonesia continues to strengthen its position as a regional manufacturing and sourcing hub, this industry wide platform offers exhibitors and visitors a strategic opportunity to engage with decision-makers, industry professionals, and emerging talent across the entire furniture ecosystem. Together with the International Hardware Fair Indonesia, the platform extends beyond furniture into broader hardware and hand tool solutions, reinforcing it as a truly end-to-end industry platform.

Strong Industry Engagement Marks Debut of interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair with IFMAC & WOODMAC

The inaugural interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair Indonesia concluded their debut editions alongside the longstanding IFMAC & WOODMAC from 24–27 September 2025 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Together, the three events formed Southeast Asia’s most comprehensive industry platform, showcasing the full supply chain of furniture production, interior design, hardware, woodworking machinery, and components. Across 17,832 sqm of exhibition space, the integrated platform welcomed 13,689 attendees and hosted 482 exhibitors from 49 countries. The strong turnout reflected Indonesia’s growing role as a central hub for design, production, and manufacturing innovation in the region.

“This debut has given us a strong starting point for developing interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair Indonesia into long-term platforms for the region. In 2026, we aim to welcome even more international companies, national pavilions, and collaborators, reflecting a promising market and the increasing footprint of these industries in Southeast Asia. With the continued support of exhibitors, partners, and visitors, we look forward to strengthening Jakarta’s role as a central meeting point for innovation, sustainability, and business opportunities,” said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director & Vice President Asia-Pacific, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd.

“By bringing together IFMAC & WOODMAC’s strong reputation with the debut of interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair Indonesia, we have created a truly end-to-end platform for the industry. This collaboration ensures that every part of the supply chain — from raw materials and machinery to fittings, components, and finished solutions — can be found under one roof in Jakarta,” said Rini Sumardi, Director of Wakeni.

The Re:Create Stage emerged as a focal point of knowledge and inspiration, attracting strong attendance across its three-day programme. Engaging sessions addressed pressing themes such as circular materials, multifunctional design, and alternative material ecosystems. Highlights included the Indonesian Society of Interior Designers (HDII) session on “Designing Multifunctional Furniture: Challenges and Solutions”, presented by Karina L Cheung and Yudhistira A.P. Harahap, and PLAYO’s session “Matter-Reality: Alternative Material Ecosystem in Indonesia” delivered by Alia Sarastita, Arka Irfani, Genie Anggita, and Adil Alba.

Visitors also highlighted the Re:Create Stage as one of the most valuable features of the show. “The topic has given me practical insights that I can apply directly to my projects. It was a meaningful complement to the exhibition floor and one of the most valuable parts of the show,” said Deasi Dianasari, Ambassador of the AsiaPacific Space Designers’ Association (APSDA).

“I see this exhibition as a hidden gem. Not many people know about it yet, but it showcases a wide range of local and international brands — from generic to highend. It really shows that Indonesia has strong potential to compete, even with products from China or Germany. Awareness will take time to grow, but I believe this event has a bright future and will only attract more attention,” said Dimas Gepeto, DIY Influencer.

Exhibitors also reflected on the opportunities Jakarta provides as a growing market and gateway to Southeast Asia. “Indonesia is an interesting and dynamic market, with a growing furniture sector driven by urbanisation. As a global player in furniture exports, the country will require companies to invest in the latest production technologies to stay competitive. For European suppliers like us, Indonesia will be an increasingly important market in the future. interzum jakarta has given us a valuable entry point to connect with buyers and professionals from across Southeast Asia,” said Philipp Senft, Manager International, Lamello AG.

Aaron Boo, Managing Director of Phyta Asia, added: “We joined interzum jakarta because we feel that Indonesia is a continuously growing market, and it is one of the countries with the highest sales for Phyta software. Over the past few days, we feel that interzum jakarta has been quite good. We were able to meet many potential customers and various partners in this industry.”

From the hardware side, “International Hardware Fair Indonesia enabled us to connect with both local distributors and international buyers in one place. The visitor mix reflects exactly the market we want to reach,” said Torben Kloska, Sales Manager, Brockhaus HEUER.

With interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair Indonesia making their debut alongside the long-standing IFMAC & WOODMAC, Jakarta has now reinforced its position as Southeast Asia’s key meeting point for the furniture, design, hardware, and woodworking industries. The three events will return from 23–26 September 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, continuing to offer an integrated platform where global trends, new technologies, and sustainable practices converge to shape the industries of tomorrow.

Southeast Asia’s Premier Woodworking & Furniture Manufacturing Industry Hub

  • The collaboration of interzum jakarta, International Hardware Fair Indonesia, and IFMAC & WOODMAC provides access to all furniture manufacturing and woodworking industry value chains with only one ticket in one location.
  • Jakarta becomes the first city in Southeast Asia to host this international exhibition, affirming its role as a regional manufacturing industry growth hub.
  • This exhibition is a strategic platform for cross-sector collaboration, technology transfer, and sustainable growth of the manufacturing and design industry in Indonesia and the ASEAN region.

Jakarta, June 2025 – Indonesia attracts the global furniture, woodworking and hardware industry through the collaboration of three large-scale international exhibitions: interzum jakarta (Trade Fair for Furniture Production and Interior Design), International Hardware Fair Indonesia, IFMAC (International Furniture Manufacturing Components Exhibition) & WOODMAC (International Woodworking Machinery Exhibition). For the first time, the three exhibitions will be conducted in a 3-in-1 format at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on 24–27 September 2025. This exhibition is jointly organised by Koelnmesse, Amara Group, and WAKENI, which presents an integrated platform to connect the entire industrial value chain, from raw materials and components to the latest design solutions and manufacturing technologies in one visit.

The uniqueness of this joint organisation lies not only in the synergy of interconnected sectors, from furniture, woodworking, to hardware, but also in its strategic location in Jakarta, Southeast Asia’s first city to host an international-scale industry exhibition. By carrying an efficient integrated format, this event provides convenience for industry players to access the entire production value chain in just one visit, including raw materials, components, fittings, advanced production tools and machines, as well as the latest interior technology and design solutions. Through one ticket, visitors will gain full access to all three complementary exhibitions, expanding the scope of business opportunities, technology exchange, and strategic collaboration across industries. This approach not only saves time and costs but also provides a more comprehensive industry experience, making it an important momentum to accelerate the transformation of the manufacturing and design industry in Indonesia and the ASEAN region.

After its showcase success at IFFINA 2024, interzum jakarta now stands as a fullfledged international exhibition and official part of the interzum brand family, the world’s most influential exhibition for furniture production and interior design. interzum jakarta aims to become a dynamic and comprehensive market for the interior design component, material and technology industry in Southeast Asia. Through interzum jakarta, industry players in Indonesia and other regions can access global trends, innovate with new materials and designs, and build strategic positions in the increasingly competitive sustainable manufacturing market.

Supported by EISENWARENMESSE’s strong reputation – International Hardware Fair (IHF) Indonesia, presents a complete spectrum of the hardware industry from hand tools and engineering equipment, woodworking and construction machinery, to the latest technologies in security systems and accessories. IHF Indonesia is designed as a dedicated and in-depth platform for hardware manufacturers, distributors and industry professionals to expand their business networks, showcase product innovations and establish strategic partnerships both domestically and internationally. IHF Indonesia is a pivotal moment in strengthening the supply chain of the construction and manufacturing industry in the region.

IFMAC & WOODMAC returns this year with a strong presentation of the latest production solutions and advanced manufacturing technologies from both global and local industry players. IFMAC focuses on furniture components and materials, while WOODMAC showcases the newest woodworking machinery and processing innovations. Together, they offer a strategic business platform for industry professionals seeking to enhance production efficiency, precision, and competitiveness while supporting the sector’s transformation toward digitalization and automation.

This year’s exhibition is also enriched by a series of engaging programs designed to support business connections, learning, and industry inspiration. These include the hosted buyer program, business matching, industry talks, DIY workshops, and the Mobile Space Interior an innovative interior design showcase tailored for fast-paced urban lifestyles that demand flexible living spaces. The concept addresses the challenges of limited space in large cities like Jakarta and caters to the needs of modern society with high mobility.

Strategic Collaboration to launch interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair Indonesia alongside IFMAC WOODMAC in 2025

JAKARTA, 25 SEPTEMBER 2024 – Koelnmesse and Traya Eksibisi Internasional are pleased to announce to announce a strategic collaboration to launch interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair (IHF) Indonesia — powered by EISENWARENMESSE — alongside IFMAC WOODMAC, Indonesia’s leading event for the woodworking community. The 3-in-1 event will be held from 24-27 September 2025 at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Jakarta, Indonesia. This concept replicates the successful model in Guangzhou, where CIFF/interzum guangzhou and CIFM are co-located together.

The collaboration aims to consolidate and co-locate three major events, showcasing the entire furniture production value chain under one roof, complemented by a dedicated hardware industry trade fair. This initiative will provide a comprehensive platform for industry professionals to conveniently explore the latest innovations, trends, and technologies in furniture production, woodworking machinery, and hardware at a single location.

An interzum showcase debuted in Indonesia as part of IFFINA from 14-17 September 2024 and concluded successfully, featuring major brands such as blum, Haefele, American Hardwood Export Council, Cyberlock, and others. The success of this showcase has led to its expansion into a full trade fair show, now called interzum jakarta. interzum jakarta will be launched as a full trade fair show alongside the debut of the International Hardware Fair Indonesia in 2025.

interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair Indonesia will be held alongside IFMAC — Indonesia’s largest woodworking machinery exhibition, — bringing together a wide range of exhibitors and visitors from the furniture production and woodworking industries. The combined events will cover the entire value chain, from raw materials and components to machinery and tools, providing a one-stop solution for industry professionals. The involvement in IFMAC is a strategic move to eliminate competition between the three distinct shows, and instead foster synergies by leveraging IFMAC’s existing visitor and partner base.

Southeast Asia is the world’s fastest growing region, with significant economic expansion and a young population. Indonesia, with a population of 280 million, is the largest market in the region and a major global furniture manufacturing hub. The country emphasizes protecting and developing its local furniture industry, investing heavily in upgrading manufacturing capabilities, and reducing raw material exports. The growing construction industry and the surge in demand for Do-It-Yourself (DIY) and home improvement stores are also driving the market.

The event is expected to attract over 20,000 attendees, including industry professionals, exhibitors, and visitors from around the region. It aims to provide unparalleled networking opportunities for stakeholders across the value-chain and foster meaningful connections within the industry.

“We are excited to partner with Traya Eksibisi Internasional to bring interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair Indonesia to life. This collaboration will create a unique platform for industry professionals to connect, innovate, and drive the future of furniture production, hardware and woodworking industries,” said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and VP Asia-Pacific of Koelnmesse.

“The co-location of these events will provide unparalleled opportunities for exhibitors and visitors alike. We look forward to bringing this vision to life with our long-time partner, Koelnmesse, showcasing the latest advancements in the industry and fostering meaningful connections,” added Romi, President Director, PT. Amara Pameran Internasional.

The launch of interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair Indonesia alongside IFMAC marks a significant milestone in the industry. This event is expected to attract a wide range of exhibitors and visitors, driving innovation and growth in the furniture production, hardware and woodworking sectors.
